Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown soundtrack to be released January 17, 2025

You'll love this news - on January 17, 2025, Lee Mendelson Film Productions will release Vince Guaraldi's complete soundtrack to the 1975 Peanuts animated special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the show.

Coming on CD, black vinyl, two colored vinyl variants, and digitally, the album will feature 30 tracks - 22 cues from the show, plus 8 alternate takes and mixes - and will be 42 minutes long in total.

Physical releases will include liner notes by producers Sean Mendelson and Jason Mendelson, plus Guaraldi historian Derrick Bang.

A few Be My Valentine tracks have appeared previously on compilation albums, but this is the first time the entire score will be available; most of it has never been released before.

Taken from the original recording session tapes, the music has been newly mastered and mixed in clear stereo sound. You can hear a few short previews on Soundcloud here.

The album will be available on CD and regular black vinyl from all retailers.  If you need something special for your vinyl-loving sweet babboo, the two colored vinyl variants of the Be My Valentine album will be a 'Heartburn Red", exclusive to independent record stores, and "Puppy Love Pink", available exclusively from Barnes & Noble.  (Note that the link to independent record stores is not necessarily a complete list; check with your local store to see if they have the version of the album you want!)

Like this fall's You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown LPs, the Be My Valentine LP releases will be "BioVinyl," made from recycled cooking oil and industrial waste instead of raw petroleum, and the packaging will once again be made from sustainably forested trees and compostable plastic wrapping.

The Snoopy Show and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown now streaming on AppleTV+

Apple has also added the classic 1975 half-hour special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown to Apple TV+ ; it premiered on the service on February 5, 2021.

There is no over-the-air television broadcast of Be My Valentine in 2021, and there is no free viewing period like there was for the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials, it is only available to Apple TV+ subscribers.

Limited edition 2015 "Snoopy Valentine" prints from Dark Hall Mansion

Dark Hall Mansion is celebrating Valentine's Day 2015 with a set of eye-catching prints featuring the Peanuts gang, going on sale this Friday, January 30.

The very colorful prints by new-to-the-line artist Nicole Gustafsson, titled "Snoopy Valentine," are inspired by the TV special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown and one of Charles Schulz's enduring themes of the comic strip - the joys and difficulties of love.

The print is available in four editions: a standard edition; a variant edition with a different color scheme; and very limited canvas editions of each.

The officially licensed glicée prints measure 16" x 20" and will ship in time for Valentine's Day.

The standard edition will be limited to 280 prints, the variant edition will be limited to 50 prints, and the canvas editions limited to just 5 prints of each color scheme.

You'll be able to get ready for Valentine's Day by watching Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown (1975) and A Charlie Brown Valentine (2002) on Friday, February 13, 2015 evening.  ABC will broadcast the two specials back-to-back from 8-9 PM (Eastern/Pacific time).

New limited edition Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown prints for 2014 coming February 5

Dark Hall Mansion kicks off a new year of limited edition prints with two distinctly different Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown designs, going on sale Wednesday, February 5.

Drawn by artist Lorelay Bove (making her first contribution to the line of Peanuts prints), the standard edition evokes the 1975 television special's opening credits and a couple of key scenes with an appropriately pastel palette.  The contrasting variant print has a simplicity similar to Schulz's artwork for the comic strip, while still capturing the essence of the show's (and the strip's) somewhat maudlin take on Valentine's Day.

The officially licensed, numbered editions measure 18" x 24" and are individually screen printed.

The standard edition will be limited to 280 prints, and the variant edition will be limited to 50 prints.  In addition, there will be a special wood edition of 5 each of both the standard and variant artwork.

ABC is celebrating Valentine's Day 2014 by airing two Peanuts specials that evening - the 1975 special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown and the 2002 special A Charlie Brown Valentine. They'll air back-to-back from 8-9 PM on Friday, February 14 (Eastern/Pacific time).

In Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown hopes for Valentine's cards at the school Valentine's Day party while Linus worries about how to show his affection for his teacher, Miss Othmar.  Then in A Charlie Brown Valentine, Charlie Brown tries to impress the little red-haired girl, but instead Peppermint Patty asks him to a Valentine's Day dance.

And another modest item of Peanuts television news: a signed letter from Charles Schulz with a drawing of Linus will be one of the items featured on the February 10, 2014 episode ("Detroit, Hour 3") of the PBS show Antiques Roadshow.  Typically new episodes air at 8 PM (Eastern/Pacific) on Monday evenings, but check local listings to confirm the time on your PBS station.

Dark Hall Mansion's first Peanuts prints of 2013 will be two nifty limited edition prints inspired by the 1975 television special Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.

Fans of the comic strip know that Charlie Brown doesn't have much luck on Valentine's Day, and Jayson Weidel's movie poster-style prints deftly illustrate poor Charlie's trials and tribulations with some key scenes from the show - be sure to click the images to see larger versions!

This is the first time Dark Hall Mansion has done prints based directly on Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.  Last year they did release Peanuts prints with a Valentine's Day theme, but they were not based on the television special like these new prints.
