This tenth version of the iconic Snoopy balloon is new this year. The four-story-tall Joe Cool stylishly wears a red T-shirt and black sunglasses while holding his best birdie buddy Woodstock.
Joe Cool and Woodstock will fly in the 100th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, taking place November 26, 2026. The event will be broadcast live to viewers on NBC and Peacock that day, from 8:30 am to noon in all time zones.
The parade will begin on Manhattan's Upper West Side, and conclude at Macy's Herald Square flagship store.
Snoopy continues to be the longest-running character in the parade’s history. He started in 1968 as the WWI Flying Ace; this was followed by an Astronaut, Ice Skater, Ice Skater with Woodstock, Millennium Snoopy, an updated Flying Ace, Snoopy and Woodstock, an updated Astronaut, and Beagle Scout with Woodstock.
At 8 p.m. the previous evening (Wednesday, November 25), NBC-TV and Peacock will air and stream the primetime special Countdown to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. During this live broadcast from the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade starting line, viewers will get an exclusive first look at the incredible stories behind the floats, balloons and bands, as they prepare to make their way through the streets of New York City.
